Happy Valentines Day

Elliana looking oh-so-cute in her Valentines dress. Well, except for the famous bird she's been flashing since infancy. Hilarious!

The boys waiting for the bus. They have a full day of Valentines surprises starting with a valentine exchange in their class. Mommy and Daddy will be making a surprise visit. They will also be surprised to see their Grandma and Grandpa tomorrow after school. They will be flying in early in the morning to stay for a week!!

Elliana loves her snuggly chair that she got for Christmas. She currently uses it to watch baby einstein and props herself up to a standing position and walks around it while leaning on it. She'll be walking in no time!

Grace

Grace is the oldest (Nathan's daughter from a high school relationship). She lives with her Mom in Ohio but we're thankful to have a visitation schedule in place which allows us to see her on her breaks and summer vacations. She is in 6th grade and is a great student. She is currently swimming and cheer leading but admits that swimming is so much better (that's an "atta girl" from Daddy who was a state swimmer himself). She is great with her siblings-from playing school to video games or riding bikes with them. And yes, this year she will 12. Can you say: American Red Cross babysitting class?! Can't wait to have her join us this summer in NC.

Kaden & Riley

Kaden (Kade) and Riley Jacob are our twin boys. They were born May 13, 2002 in St. Petersburg, Russia and went straight from the hospital to a Russian orphanage. We adopted them in 2004. They are the life and breath of our family. They are constantly active, usually getting into something and always making us smile. They are in kindergarten this year and loving it. We are currently working on reading and writing. They play soccer and t-ball and are looking forward to swimming lessons this summer.

Elliana

Elliana was born on April 3, 2007 in Columbus, Ohio. She is our first biological child, but very much our third. We've been blessed with her sunny, smiling disposition and great sleep schedule. She is currently teething and we're working on patience with baby sign language (thanks for the flash cards Grandma). She wants to be 5 like her brothers but for now she's content to crawl around knocking down lego towers. To say she is wrapped around Daddy's little finger would be putting it mildly. She is every bit his princess!

Welcome to the Jacob Family Journal

Welcome to the Jacob Family Journal! This is our first family attempt at blogging- but being that it is the 21st century, and we're the only ones in our families to live outside of Ohio (ahem...go Bucks!) we're hoping to use this a forum to keep family and close friends updated on our goings on, Jacob kiddo happenings and pics of our ever growing family. The frequency of updates is unknown as we settle into our new home and life in North Carolina but hopefully it will be often enough. Did you know the Jacob family had 4 different addresses in 2007?! We lived in Florida, Texas, Ohio and North Carolina in 2007, oh, and we had a baby in there too. With flight school and infancy behind us, we're optimistic about our 3.5 years in North Carolina and hopeful for 2008. We have many family goals which we've titled J08 and have them posted on the fridge. We are blessed with a beautiful home on a private lake. Nathan is like a kid in a candy store flying C-130's at VMGR 252 on MCAS Cherry Point, NC. The twins are enjoying their newly built elementary school in full time kindergarten and are loving our back yard complete with a sandbox, trampoline, swing set and lake filled with slimy new friends. Elliana and I are enjoying our days playing outside, visiting with new friends and exploring boutiques in our new town of Historic New Bern, NC. The church hunt continues. Updates and pics forthcoming....visits to our blogspot and home welcomed! Hugs from afar.
